    • Get up-close-&-personal with nature at the Knysna Elephant Park. With the help of our highly trained and well-informed Guides, you will learn about the sad and touching story of the Knysna elephants – the world’s southern-most elephants. All of our elephants are orphans, rescued from culling operations and given a second chance at life. This, in turn, has given us the opportunity to learn more about these gentle and highly intelligent creatures – and to pass this knowledge on to our visitors. The Knysna Elephant Park offers a rare and exciting opportunity to get close to these gentle giants, who live in a controlled, free-range environment in the heart of the famous Garden Route. Activities include: “Be touched by an elephant” daily tours; Elephant-back riding or walking safaris; Sundowners with the elephants; Self-catering “boma” accommodation, which allows our guests to ‘sleep with the elephants.’ Bunk-house self-catering accommodation for school groups; On-site restaurant.
